New drone has no pilot anywhere, so who’s accountable? The Navy is testing an autonomous plane that will land on an aircraft carrier. The prospect of heavily armed aircraft screaming through the skies without direct human control is unnerving to many.

As much of a technophile as I am, the idea of this type of dangerous machinery making it’s own decisions is extraordinarily disturbing to me.
“The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines. The computer which controlled the machines, Skynet, sent two Terminators back through time. Their mission: to destroy the leader of the human resistance, John Connor, my son.”

The people who advocated forcefully spreading democracy across all the oil-rich nations are waiting in the wings of the next election for their person, whose ad buys they have been purchasing, to get into office. This picture is a solemn reminder of the sacrifices brave people made because of the greedy decisions of a few and of the industries that depend on this sacrifice. It’s a reminder of what a few people can do to the long-term direction of societies… also it’s for me to stop bitching about my party and keep my resolve to keep these war profiteers out of office. I wished I believed in a hell that punished those that profit from people’s pain and misfortune.
I am not amused.
