redshift-13: Forest Gnome Energy Bars »
I tried this experiment last night and it worked out really well. To me these raw vegan bars are better tasting than any commercial brand I’ve tried.
Ingredients
- 12 dates blended in a food processor
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup walnuts ground in a food processor
- 1-2 tablespoons chia seed
- 1-2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
Add all the ingredients into a bowl and use your hands to mash it all together. Then, spread onto a smallish bread loaf pan, cut into about 9 bars, and refrigerate. This is far cheaper than buying a calorie-equivalent number of bars, and, you get to control the ingredients that go into it.
Time: ~10 minutes

That sounds really good. I wish I had seen this before I went to the grocery store!
